In every organization, there will definitely be teams of people working together. In your company, it could be your department working with one another, your immediate team with a team supervised by a colleague or even teams that are cross-functional.

Regardless of the team composition, there is always a need to lead them to high performance.

The question is, how do you do it?

After working with many multi-national corporations and organizations on developing high performance teams and having interviewed the top leaders and managers of their organization, I realized that all high performance teams follow the five principles of the High Performance Team Model that I discuss in my keynotes. I’ve noticed that a lot of organisations tend to have very good plans but face immense difficulty with the discipline of executing it well. This is more tough especially when there are many things happening on a daily basis that detracts you from your end goal.

Another issue is also about leadership. I have found after discussions with many professionals that many people don’t leave their jobs, they actually leave their bosses. When an organisation does not have good leadership and high levels of trust from within, they will not be able to perform well.

I have a solution to the above issues and this is what makes me very excited about what I am doing.

For the entire 2013, I’m was engaged in giving keynotes on Leading High Performance Teams in conferences for the following seminars, such as the World HRD Conference in Mumbai, 16th Infocomm Commerce organised by Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Leadership Conference in KL and Fuji Xerox Empowers 2013 in Singapore. This also does not include other companies who hired me directly to give keynotes to during their annual conference or town hall meetings.

So what is the High Performance Team Model?

This model encompasses the 5 proven strategies top leaders used to lead their team. They are mainly:

Clarity

Trust

Communication

Accountability

Care

If you’re looking for a speaker or provide leadership training on leading high performance teams, let’s discuss how I can add value to your organisaton.

I have written a short article on the 5 strategies leaders can use to lead their people to work passion, performance and profits, and was featured recently on The Straits Times Recruit, 25 November 2013. The article title was changed by The Straits Times but the content remains the same.
